IGI and the North Devon Biosphere (NDB) have agreed to collaborate to build the Smart Biosphere. With IGI bringing the software, technology and data expertise, and NDB bringing the environmental and sensing expertise the team will address the challenge of integrating data across the biosphere to provide a holistic trusted view onto the state of the Northern Devon environment.

This long term relationship will see IGI adapting it's world leading geochemistry software to provide a tool that can read, visualise, interpret, model and summarise complex environmental data from a range of sources, including citizen science, in-situ sensors and remote sensing. The data will cover the full remit of the NDB including water (rivers and sea), soil, air and biodiversity.

The partnership will provide exciting opportunities for IGI to further develop our software while also offering opportunities for learning about interesting new challenges in monitoring, management, visualisation and modelling of a range of different types of data. We can't wait to get our wellies on!
